'Bell Tower,' a statue commemorating the importance of educaiton in the community will be installed at the Flossmoor Public Library on Sunday, May 19. The installation will take place from 3 to 4 p.m.

Flossmoor is home to any number of art installations, from the Flossmoor Sculpture Gardens to the Homewood-Flossmoor High School National Art Society gallery at the high school. Now, the Flossmoor Public Library will be included in the art game in the community, as the library will receive a statue dedication from H-F art students on Sunday, May 19.

The installation, which will take place from 3 to 4 p.m., is a project between the Flossmoor Public Works Commission and the high school. The state is called, 'Bell Tower,' and is meant to symbolize 'the importance of education in the community from the earliest documented school to the current award-winning High School,' according to a release from the village.

In support of the installation at the library, Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery, 1035 Sterling Ave., will donate 5 percent of all lunch and dinner proceeds that day to the Art Commission in support of Flossmoor's Public Art program.
