National Women's Health & Fitness Day @ the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club

The Nation’s Largest Annual Health Promotion Event for Women of All Ages


 The H-F Racquet & Fitness Club (the Club), located at 2920 W. 183rd St., Homewood IL will be an official host site for the National Women’s Health and Fitness Day on Wednesday, September 26, 2012. The day’s goal is to focus attention on the importance of regular physical activity and health awareness for women. “Being Active is a Healthy Choice” is this year’s theme.


The Club, as a host site, will welcome all women - members and non-members  - for FREE on this day.

Participants may take any group fitness class – land or aqua; walk on the indoor track; swim or walk in the pool; and avail themselves of the many Club amenities. For the sports enthusiast the tennis and racquetball courts as well as the golf simulator private studio will be available for an additional nominal fee and reservations are requested.


 In addition to regularly scheduled classes, the Club will also offer a Gentle Yoga class led by Linzie Hartmann that will focus on simplicity, repetition and alignment to work out the body’s kinks.

Ingalls Wellness Center will make available its interactive heart awareness program with staff to assist participants. Two presentations specific to women will be available: Dr. Derek Hartmann offers an Interactive Headache Clinic at 10 a.m. and at 11:30 a.m. Kim Kramer, RD, will present “Female Belly Fat.”


Information will be available at various times throughout the day covering topics such as Alzheimer’s disease, heart health, diabetes, and weight management.
