Aurelio's Kicks Off New Lunch Dining Hours With Bike Race Sponsorship

The restaurant that put Homewood on the map is also giving back to its home town by sponsoring this Sunday's Homewood Classic annual bicycle race.

We all have the same problem. The weekend rolls around and it's lunch time. Suddenly, we're compelled to go to Aurelio's to satisfy a sudden pizza craving, but alas, the restaurant does not open until 4 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

This maddening scenario will soon be a thing of the past as Aurelio's will soon be open for lunch hours for the first time since 1959. The famous downtown Homewood pizza joint will now open their dining room from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.

The restaurant is sponsoring Homewood's Downtown Classic bike race this Sunday in celebration if the new weekend hours, which will go into effect beginning this Saturday, July 6.

“We are excited to start serving our friends and neighbors during lunch hours on the weekends and we’re equally excited to sponsor the Downtown Homewood Classic because it’s a terrific weekend event attended by so many people in our community,” Aurelio's Franchising Director Kirk Mauriello said in a release.

And for all hungry racegoers, Aurelio's pizza will be available for purchase during the event.
