Charitable Flossmoor Brothers Honored at Aurelio's

Flossmoor's famous backpack-collecting brothers were recently honored at the Homewood institution.

Near the beginning of the school year, Flossmoor brothers Caleb (11), Ian (9) and Noah (6) made headlines for collecting 52 backpacks to donate to needy local kids.

Aurelio's in Homewood was so impressed with their work, they decided to invite the kids and their family over for a private pizza party. Owner Joe Aurelio personally thanked the boys for their job well done and presented them with an assortment of Aurelio's gear and tickets to the Shedd Aquarium.

"It's a good thing you stepped forward and tried to help other people," Aurelio said. "That's a great job you guys did."

During their visit, the boys also got a guided tour of the back kitchen (claimed to be the largest pizza kitchen in the world, by Aurelio).

While all three boys were plenty excited for the pizza party, they all agree that the best part of the whole backpack drive was "making people feel good."
