'Nix Nax' Owner Tweaks Store Layout, Customer Experience

Nix Nax, a clothing store in Homewood, recently underwent a storewide renovation, in an effort to give customers an updated shop to browse. Owner Pamela Nixon spoke to Patch about the renovations.

Nix Nax in Homewood has looked essentially the same for the past two years. With designs lining the walls and items on the racks, customers have grown accustomed to the store’s layout and overall design. But customers were in for a pleasant surprise, after a few recent tweaks to the store, located at 2135 W. 183rd St.. The owners and customers couldn’t be happier with the renovations.

“Customers seem to really love it,” said Pamela Nixon, wife of owner Ron.

The updated look of Nix Nax replaces designs on the walls with well-stocked catalogs, and new carpeting, Nixon said.

“The designs are all gone now, plus we’ve got brand-new displays and carpeting,” she said. “We’ve really just given the place a facelift. It’s really got a great feel to it, it feels great.”

With the renovations complete, Nixon said business has picked up in recent weeks, although she wasn’t sure if there was a correlation.
