Nice article about places to eat, but does Homewood offer anything else? Dancing? Music?

I'd recommend the Drama Group in Chicago Heights for excellent (and very affordable!) live theater. Their 81st Season starts this October with a production of Smokey Joe's Cafe.

A lot of our restaurants & merchants are supporting the local music scene -- Mama & Me, Tin Ceiling, Bergsteins NY Deli, Art 4 Soul, Thomas' Photographic Services, & the Zone are a few that come to mind. Check out South Sub Music's website for venues & dates (www.southsubmusic.com).

I believe Balagio's has a Frank Sinatra style piano player/entertainer one weekend night. Also, if your date night INCLUDES the kids, Grady's Grille offers homemade play dough for the kids to play with. Keeps them entertained at least through appetizers. ;)

Little Tokyo Restaurant is closed, of course. It is now Tokyo Steakhouse, and is in the space that had been empty since Balagio's moved.
