“I’m proud to offer my support to Debbie Halvorson,” stated Bishop Sanders. “Debbie has an outstanding relationship with clergymen throughout southern Cook County and beyond. What she accomplished in delivering seven thousand jobs to the Joliet economy in just two short years in Congress is exactly what we need in this district.”

Apostle Marshall Davis, Senior Pastor of the Chicagoland Christian Center adds “Debbie will bring a wealth of experience to this newly drawn 2nd district. Her success in bringing the Civic, Clergy and Business leaders together in attracting economic development is desperately needed in a district that has long been neglected by its current representative.”

, Halvorson has spent countless hours visiting Sunday church services, attending cleric organization meetings and church based town hall meetings to discuss job creation, economic development and other issues facing area neighborhoods and communities.

”I’m grateful for the support of these outstanding spiritual leaders,” Halvorson stated. “I realize that the gateway to the African American community starts with the churches. My success in public service is credited in large part to my close ties to the African American Clergy. I look forward to continuing to work with clergy throughout the district to bring much-needed jobs to our area.”
