Temper Tantrum at Jimmy John's
A teen Jimmy John's employee is charged with criminal damage to property after news of his termination provoked a destructive reaction.
MONDAY, July 25
A teen employee became upset after learning his employment was terminated at Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches on 18048 Halsted St., according to a police report.
Irate over the loss of his job at the sandwich restaurant, the teen knocked over two tables, leaving one table cracked and the other dented, police said. Apparently still wrathful, the teen exited the building to the rear and hurled a rock at a car belonging to another employee, damaging the vehicle's rear windshield, the report said. At this point, the Homewood Police Department was contacted.

The young man came to the station and learned he was being charged with criminal damage to property and must appear in juvenile court, police said.
An employee at Jimmy John's estimated the damage to the furniture at $250. The teen was released to his father.
