H-F Area LWV Hosts Pot Luck Supper

The Homewood-Flossmoor Area League of Women Voters recently hosted its first meeting of the new season: a pot luck dinner and meet and greet with local legislators.

We had a great turnout for our first meeting of the new season: a pot luck dinner followed by a meet and greet with our local legislators.

Forty people attended and sampled a variety of culinary delights provided by the H-F Area League of Women Voters (LWV) members. During the evening, league members heard from representatives Will Davis (30th District), Al Riley (38th District) and Anthony DeLuca (80th District). All took turns responding to a variety of questions posed by the audience. They also explained their new district boundaries, following the recent re-districting.

Though Senator Toi Hutchinson (40th District) could not attend this event, she kindly sent her Chief of Staff, Desirae Douma, and their intern, Zakiyyah Jackson-Bey to the meeting. They shared some of the senator's accomplishments this past session.

Board members Peg Boivin, Ruby Marsh, Maureen McSherry, Margaret Smith and Syvia Tillman served as hostesses for the evening. The event was thoroughly enjoyed, not only for the camaraderie, but for the opportunity to interact with our legislators.
