Homewood-Flossmoor Area and Park Forest Area Leagues of Women Voters Sponsor Candidate Forum .

Four of the six candidates for Prairie State College Board of Trustees recently participated in a Candidate Forum sponsored by the Leagues of Women Voters of Homewood-Flossmoor and Park Forest.

The Leagues of Women Voters of the Homewood-Flossmoor Area and Park Forest Area recently hosted a Candidate Forum at the Park Forest Library, in which four of six individuals running for positions on the Prairie State College Board of Trustees (Dist. 515) participated.  The candidates -- Charles Dieringer, Peg Donahue, Joelle Mulhearn, and Linda Uzureau -- shared their views on a variety of topics from questions submitted by the audience.

One issue that concerned those attending the forum is the fact that these four individuals' candidacies are being challenged to determine if they can stay on the ballot, based on a discrepancy in the "statement of candidacy" form provided by the State Election Board and submitted by all four candidates.  The Prairie State Board of Trustees is to render a decision on Feb. 8 as to whether or not they will remain on the ballot.

Moderator for the Dist. 515 Forum was Barbara Amster.  Questions were screened by Myrtle Martin (PF LWV) and Syvia Tillman (HF LWV).  Timers were Kim Reed (PF LWV) and Erin Roeper (HF LWV).
