Fractured Fairytales

Fractured Fairytales
January 31, 2014
6:30-9pm

Calling all storytellers, creative writers, and comedians! Back by popular demand…Union Street Gallery once again will host “Fractured Fairytales” Friday January 31, 6:30-9pm. Storytellers, creative writers, and comedians—both novice and accomplished—are invited to read or present an original fairytale or shake things up and present an innovative rewrite of a classic. Costumes and props are encouraged. This event is family friendly and both adult and child participation are welcome.  Ready-to-read narratives will be on hand for non-writers who want to participate. Valet dragon parking available upon request.

This event like many USG events is free and open to the public, but donations are appreciated to help keep programs like this running. Doors open at 6:30, the program will take place 7-8pm, and there will be social hour after from 8-9pm. Refreshments will be served.

Storytellers must register a head of time by contacting the gallery at 708 754 2601 or unionstreetart@gmail.com. Walk-ins will be welcome but are not guaranteed to perform.

Before and after the program visitors can stroll through the historic three-story building which houses two floors of exhibit space and fourteen art studios where resident artists work and show their art. The current exhibits include FUSED featuring encaustic art by members of Fused Chicago, and Earth and Sky featuring six local artists who paint and draw landscapes which are up until February 8th.
