IPO String Trio at Ravisloe
Heralding the arrival of summer, the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra brings a 4-concert program of chamber music and jazz to the idyllic Ravisloe Country Club (18231 S. Park Avenue, Homewood), beginning Wednesday, June 11. Experience an evening of exceptional entertainment set against the backdrop of the Club’s gorgeous Gilded Aged Mission-style architecture. Each concert begins at 7 p.m., and the Grill is open for dining before the performance. Purchase all four concerts for $100 or individual tickets for $30 each. July 2 – IPO Brass Quintet presents a 4th of July Special: A Musical Journey through America
Ring in the 4th of July holiday with a concert of American favorites! Featuring “New York, New York,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “Meet Me in St. Louis,” “San Francisco,” plus other selections highlighting New Orleans, Chicago, the Old South, the New North and more.
July 23 – New Comma Baroque presents Telemann’s Travels
Chicago-based New Comma Baroque makes its Ravisloe debut in a program of virtuosic music by German composer Georg Phillip Telemann. The evening features selections of some of the composer’s most well-known works for baroque violin, viola da gamba and harpsichord, composed during his travels across Europe.
August 13 – Alex Blomarz Quintet
The 2014 Ravisloe series concludes in style with an evening of cool jazz on a hot summer night, featuring Southland native Alex Blomarz and friends. Sit back, relax and enjoy as our IPO guest artists bring another splendid summer of marvelous music at Ravisloe to a close.
