Park Forest Area League of Women Voters Hosts Meeting on Regional Cooperation in the Southland

The
League of Women Voters of the Park Forest Area will host an educational meeting
on Regional Cooperation in the Southland on Wednesday, April 16, at 7:00 PM at
the Park Forest Public Library, 400 Lakewood Boulevard in Park Forest. 



Ed Paesel,
Executive Director of the South Suburban Mayors and Managers, will provide an
update on current activities to foster regional cooperation among the
municipalities in the southland.  SSMA provides leadership in the areas of
economic development, housing, transportation, technology and quality of life
for Southland communities. He will talk about SSMA activities in economic
development, workforce development and sustainable green infrastructure
planning using the regional GIS system, and will highlight the development of
the regional high speed broadband network to assist in economic development as
well as the creation of the South Suburban Land Bank and South Suburban
Development Loan Fund.



The meeting
is open to the public and anyone interested in the topic is encouraged to
attend to learn more about how the Southland communities are cooperating to
improve our area.
