PWN's Pick the Brains of Really Smart Chicks

Professional Women Learn How to Innovate and Adapt to Stay on the Cutting Edge ----the Professional Women’s Network (PWN) Annual “Smart Chicks” Luncheon will be presented by PWN President Renee Hill on November 21, 2013.

This annual program, hosted by PWN, will give those in attendance a chance to network with both the “Smart Chicks” panelists and program participants. A plated lunch will be provided while participants listen to the “Smart Chicks” panelists explain how they have managed to innovate and adapt to stay on the cutting edge of their careers.

This year’s panelists include the following “Smart Chicks:”

Terri Winfree, Ph.D., is the first Prairie State College (PSC) graduate to be sworn in as president of the college. Ms. Winfree obtained an associate’s degree in General Studies from PSC in 1996. She later went on to obtain both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Governors State University, and, in 2012, she obtained her doctorate in education and human resources from Colorado State University. Ms. Winfree assumed her duties as PSC president on May 19, 2013.

Debbie Meyers-Martin is the current Mayor of the Village of Olympia Fields, Illinois. She was elected to this position in April 2013. In addition, Ms. Meyers-Martin is a marketing specialist in the community affairs department of the Office of Illinois State 
Treasurer Dan Rutherford where she is responsible for marketing several programs within the Treasurer’s Office. Ms. Meyers-Martin also serves on several boards and 
commissions. 

Belen Tokarski is the Assistant Vice-President of CNA’s Small Business Technology and Agency Solutions group. Ms. Tokarski began working for CNA in 2001 and held several positions within the company before attaining her current position. As Assistant VicePresident, Ms. Tokarski identifies and implements innovative technology and process improvements to assist small businesses to be successful. Ms. Tokarski obtained a bachelor’s degree from Cornell College and a Master of Business Administration from 
DePaul University.

Participants should check in at 11:00 a.m. at Ravisloe Country Club, 18231 South Park Avenue, Homewood, Illinoisto meet and greet the panelists and to network with program 
participants. An early-bird registration special will be offered for reservations received before November 15, 2013, with the cost for PWN members at $25.00 and for nonmembers at $30.00. Beginning November 16, 2013, the cost will be $40.00. All prices include a plated lunch.
