Abuser Intervention Facilitator 20-Hour Training

The Abuser Intervention 20-hour Training is offered twice a year at South Suburban Family Shelter. This training is designed for those interested in working with domestic violence offenders or professionals in the field. The topics covered include a history of partner abuse intervention programs in Illinois, intervention models, implementing a curriculum and group dynamics. Participants can expect to learn best practices in co-facilitation
of groups and the role of a facilitator. Completion of the 20-hour training is required for those working with domestic violence perpetrators. SSFS is a recognized 20-hour training site by the Illinois Department of Human Services. Cost is $125 per person.
