Village Accepting Nominations for Homewood Hall of Fame

The Homewood Hall of Fame honors people who have been vital in developing Homewood's sense of community.

Those who know of a Homewood resident worthy of extra kudos are invited to nominate that person for the Village's Hall of Fame.

The award recognizes residents who have "made significant and beneficial contributions to the life and well being of the Village of Homewood over a span of time."

Officials will choose up to five current or past residents bi-yearly, and nominees may be individuals, married couples, or a family. Nominees not selected may be nominated another year. Honorees from 2012 include Henry Stolzenbach, Mable Murphy, William and Eleanor Steiner, Kataras Family, Denny and Karen Schillings.

"Homewood has been privileged to have many individuals who have given generously of their time and talent to maintain and strengthen the sense of community that has been so vital in developing Homewood as a prosperous community," reads an announcement on the village website.

Please submit only one nomination at a time. The Heritage Committee will select the inductees from among the eligible nominees. The Committee has the option, from time to time, to nominate an inductee of their own choosing.

Nominations are due May 30.

The nomination form can be found on the Village's website.
