Shannon Zozaski was named a finalist from more than 500 educators nominated for one of the 2012 Golden Apple Awards.  Shannon Zozaski, Superintendent Craig Doster, and Principal Karen Johnson were honored on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at a Celebration of Excellence Ceremony hosted by the Golden Apple Foundation.

Shannon’s demonstrated excellence in education extends well beyond the classroom, as she teaches students meaningful life messages through art media.  One such message was of world peace which involved the entire school community celebrating an Umbrella for Peace Day.  Students marched throughout the community with student-decorated umbrellas depicting world peace.  Another such project that was an extension of Shannon’s teaching was her initiative to decorate trash cans with Earth friendly messages that were placed throughout the Village of Flossmoor.
