SD 161’s Math Bowl Teams Wins Gold

161's Math Bowl wins at the county level.

Last week students from all grade levels in School District 161 competed in the South Cook County Math Bowl held at Praire State Collect . A big round of applause for that participated and took home medals !

Congratulations to our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th grade Math Bowl team members!  Yesterday the teams competed in the 2012 Math Bowl held at Prairie State College. 

 

 

The Division D Team includes Michael Gislason, Mbella Beseka, Daniel Stempel, Cruz Luna, Jessica Barry, and Jacob Rothchild.  This team earned the 1st Place Team award at the competition. Michael Gislason earned the 1st place individual award for 8th  graders. Daniel Stempel earned the 2nd place individual award for 7th graders.  The Division D team was coached by Mrs. Carolyn Scanlon.

 

The Division A Team includes Sullivan Mathys, Liam Nelson, Carson Brown, Keisha Toguem, Jaden Sharp, and Matthew Stempel.  This team earned the 1st Place Team award at the competition. The Division A team was coached by Mrs. Kate Raddatz.

 

The Division B Team includes Greta List, Lonnie Wright, Abigail Rosales, Eli List, Noah List, and Eric Piros.  This team earned the 2nd Place Team award at the competition!  Greta List earned the 4th place individual award for third graders.  And Eli List earned the 1st place individual award for fourth graders.  The Division B team was coached by Mrs. Lindsay Zilly.

 

The Division C Team includes Allie Mangel, Tyler Van Kley and Declan Cawley.  The Division C team was coached by Mrs. Kathy Fotopoulos.

 

 

  First grader, Liam Nelson earned the 3rd place individual award for first graders.  Keisha Toguem earned the 3rd place individual award for second graders.  Second grader Jaden Sharp earned both 5th place in the individual awards AND Most Valuable Player for the team!
