Renowned Photographer, Homewood-Flossmoor Alum Martin Lueders Dies

Lueders graduated from H-F in 1980 and went on to build an unforgettable career in conflict photography.

A talented and well-known photographer died early Tuesday morning.

Martin Lueders, known for his photographs for "Armed Conflict and Hunger" and "War Games," among others, was an alum of Homewood-Flossmoor High School, class of 1980.

He was celebrated as an "internationally recognized, award-winning, freelance photographer, primarily on humanitarian and environmental issues," according to worldhunger.org.

His clients included Greenpeace (International and U.S.A.), Scottish International Relief, the Catholic News Service, Catholic Relief Services and Earth Day. His work has been published in many magazines and newspapers including TIME, The Chicago Tribune and the Suddeutsche Zeitung (Munich).
