Rain Barrels, State Champs and Stellar Forensics

In an effort to promote water conservation, the Village of Flossmoor and UpCycle Products Inc. have partnered to make rain barrels available to residents at a reduced price of $51 per barrel. This program is open to Flossmoor residents and non-residents

Prairie State College's Forensics Team scored big at the Phi Rho Pi Region 4 Speech Tournament on March 18-19 at Moraine Valley Community College, with three members taking home gold medals and the team finishing third overall

Fourteen Homewood-Flossmoor High School students earned the right to call themselves State Champions at the Annual State Career Development Competition of the Illinois Association of the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), which was held March 3-5  in Decatur, Ill. Fifty-five elite representatives from Homewood-Flossmoor qualified to participate in the State Competition, which is designed to help develop future leaders for marketing and management 

Nearly 300 people enjoyed dinner, dancing and more at the Crisis Center’s Heart to Heart Extravaganza recently held at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park. The 2011 recipient, Michelle Paluch of Homer Glen, has been an avid supporter of the Crisis Center since 1992

Congratulations to H-F Group Interpretation's "Requiem for a Cellist: The Jacqueline de Pre Story" for claiming the Sectional Championship the weekend of March 19! Kudos to the All-Sectional Cast honorees: Bree Schmidt, Gloria Petrelli, Kanoa Mulling, Kaci Antkiewiczand Zack Kerkhoven. The cast and crew will be heading to Springfield to compete in the IHSA State Finals on Thursday, March 24
