Community Corner

Take a sad song and make it better . . .

Did the President's new tactic ameliorate the cancelled health insurance policy fiasco or not???

His proposal will rattle the new health insurance exchanges, since it encourages healthier people to keep their old policies and the sick to move to the new ones.

Several of my customers who are buying on the exchanges have health conditions and aren't subject to any pre-existing condition clauses. This will induce insurers to raise premiums higher next year to cover these large and predictable claims, and therefore will increase the costs of premium subsidies from the federal government (you and I will be paying more taxes to support this).

This outcome is only the tip of the iceberg for the (Un) Affordable Care Act.
