15-Year Old Flossmoor Boy Accused of Killing Brother

Michael Tigue has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder after his brother 25-year-old brother Steven Tigue died from stabbing wounds Friday, police said.

A 15 year-old Flossmoor boy has been charged in the stabbing death of his older brother, in what was described as the first Flossmoor homicide case in about 30 years.

Michael Tigue, of the 2800 block of Chayes Park Drive, was charged with first-degree murder Friday morning.

Flossmoor Police was called about a domestic disturbance in the 2800 block of Chayes Park Drive around 12:55 a.m., according to a release from the Flossmoor Police Department. Michael’s brother Steven Tigue, 25, was found with a knife wound inside the home and was taken to South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest.

Michael Tigue was arrested at the scene and charged as an adult later Friday afternoon, police said.

Steven Tigue was declared dead Friday at 1:38 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. Steven Tigue’s cause of death was reported as multiple stab and incise wounds, according to the examiner.

Michael Tigue was scheduled to appear at a bond hearing Saturday morning.
