Broker Reportedly Uses Client's Card for Jimmy John's
A cheap move for a free sandwich might wind up costing on Homewood broker.
A Chicago man complained to police on Tuesday, June 14 after a Homewood broker used his credit card to buy himself a Jimmy John's sandwich, police said.
The man met with a broker at HLMC Mortgage, 17550 Halsted St., and gave his credit card information when asked on an application, according to the report. The man later noticed an $8.50 charge on his bill for a sandwich at Jimmy John's, 18048 Halsted St., police said.
When the man called the restaurant, the staff looked up the order and confirmed that it had been delivered to the mortgage business, police said.

When the client confronted the broker, the man initially denied using the card, then admitted it, characterizing it as an accident, according to the report.
The case remained under investigation Thursday afternoon.
