Burrito Run Ends Badly for iPhone User: Blotter

A $600 iPhone 4S with a purple and black case was stolen from a purse left on the back of a chair in Chipotle Restaurant, 17700 Halsted St., according to a Homewood police report. About $140 in cash also was stolen. The victim said she left her purse for 10 minutes and, when she came back to the restaurant, found that it had been turned over to employees with the items missing.

THURSDAY, JULY 25

Auto Parts Stolen in 2 Separate Thefts


A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle parked in the Pace Bus "Park-N-Ride" lot in the 700 block of Ridge Road, according to a report. It was taken sometime between 6 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The cost to replace the auto part is estimated to be $800.

A vehicle parked in the Home Depot lot, 17845 Halsted St., had its catalytic converter stolen, according to a report. It was parked in the far southwest corner of the lot between 6:20 a.m. and 5:19 p.m. The part costs an estimated $500.
