Slapping Game

Police said a Matteson man was ticketed and charged with battery for slapping a woman during a game of pool at Brunswick Zone around 10 p.m. The man told police he was playing a game, in which he slapped her butt every time she missed a shot. The woman told police she agreed to the game but soon felt disrespected, so she shoved him into bar stools.

It was then his slapping moved a little higher.

SATURDAY, JAN. 28

DUI of Drugs

Humberto Lopez, 37, of the 7100 block of Kansas Avenue in Hammond, IN, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, no insurance and improper lane usage. Police said they stopped Lopez’s car at Halsted Street and Holbrook Road around 6 p.m. for swerving between lanes. Police said Lopez admitted to smoking marijuana before driving and failed field sobriety tests.

His passenger, Ramon Zambrano, 34, of the 300 block of 25th Street in Chicago Heights, lied about his name, which was on two arrest warrants. Officers found a bag containing marijuana on Zambrano and another bag containing cocaine in the car, according to the report.

Fleeing Police

Antonio Short, 18, of the 800 block of Elder Street in Homewood, was charged with battery, resisting a peace officer, attempted fleeing and eluding, driving on a suspended license and no rear plate light. Police said they stopped short’s car at 183rd Street and Hood Avenue around 6:15 p.m. for driving without a rear license plate light.

Officers ran Short’s information and after asking him to step out of the car he took off, turning onto Elder and abandoning his car at a dead end, according to the report. He was arrested in the 1100 block of 183rd Street hiding under a trampoline.

In lockup, Short pushed an officer and took a swing with a closed fist, police said.
