Homewood police reports: Sept. 9 - 20

SUNDAY, SEPT. 18

Criminal Trespass, Possession

Raymond Nelson, 23, of the 3200 block of 147th Street in Midlothian, and Emmanuel Moody, 26, of the 4300 block of 187th Place in County Club Hills, were charged with criminal trespass to real property after they were found loitering at about 7 p.m. at 7-Eleven, 3154 183rd St. Moody also was charged with possession of cannabis, police said.

Wallet Snatched from Vehicle

The owner of a vehicle that was parked at Manor Care, 940 Maple Rd., reported that sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 6:43 p.m., someone broke the driver’s side window and took her wallet, which she said she might have been inadvertently left on the passenger seat. The wallet contained $55, a driver’s license and credit cards, the report said.

Retail Theft at Kmart

Quantrell Campbell, 22, of the 14000 block of S. Marquette in Chicago, and Andrea Campell, 46, of the 2000 block of Best Place in Aurora, were charged with retail theft after security at Kmart, reported seeing the older Campbell place items valued at about $106 into a bag and the younger Campbell carry the bag out of the store without paying.

Window Broken

A juvenile was charged with criminal damage to property after allegedly breaking a window at around 3:20 p.m. to gain access to a residence on the 18600 block of Palmer Circle.

DUI

Edward Murphy, 28, of the 3100 block of Palisades Drive in Merrionette Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to signal a turn, driving with a suspended license and driving without proof of insurance after police responded to a complaint of a reckless driver in the area of Dixie Highway and Hawthorne. Murphy stopped his vehicle for police on Sycamore, just west of Dixie at about 12:40 a.m. He failed field sobriety tests and refused a breath test, police said.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 16

Purse Taken from Unlocked Car

A purse was reported stolen between 8:40 p.m. and 8:51 p.m. from underneath the front passenger seat of an unlocked car parked in the west employee lot of Jewel, 3153 183rd St. The purse contained a wallet, a makeup bag, a day planner, a package of pencils, a debit card and $5, the report said.
