Woman Shoplifts Chicago Bears Gear: Police Blotter

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11

Barroom Drama

A fight broke out at the Ridgewood Tap around 11:15 p.m., according to police reports.  Police say a man walked into the bar with an acquaintance looking to fight someone. The man allegedly became belligerent after a patron asked him to leave, reports say. The man was escorted outside, where he attempted to attack his escort, according to the report. Luckily, his escort parried the attack and forced the man to the ground to restrain him, police say. He was eventually transported to the Homewood police station and released without charges, although it was made clear he’s not welcome at “The Ridge” anymore, reports say.

Cars Vandalized on Cedar Road

Police are on the lookout for a man who trespassed on a Homewood resident’s property on the 1700 block of Cedar Rd. sometime between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. and smashed out the windows on two of the resident’s cars, according to the report. Police say the vandal smashed out the back window of the first vehicle and the front, back and all four side windows of the second vehicle. Reports say a steel bar was found at the scene. According to police, the detail of the damage on the vehicles was consistent with the shape and size of the bar.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10

Da’ Thief

Police say a woman was issued a citation for retail theft for stealing a Chicago Bears hat and wallet from Super Kmart around 4:30 p.m. The total value of the stolen merchandise was $29.98.

Little Crooks

A two-person juvenile thieving team was caught in the act when police say they attempted to steal three Nintendo DS video games between the two of them from Super Kmart shortly after 3 p.m. Both young men were issued citations for retail theft and released to their mother, according to the report.

TP On Los Angeles

Police say they caught six juveniles hiding in the yard of a house they just covered in toilet paper around 1:30 a.m. Officers instructed all six juveniles to remove the toilet paper from the 18100 block residence, according to the report. Police say the juveniles were transported to the Homewood police station for violation of curfew. Juvenile contact reports were filed for each of the individuals, according to the report.
