Detectives Investigate Rash of Homewood Burglaries

Police say they're not ruling out the possibility that three home burglaries on the same day may be related.

Homewood detectives are investigating a possible connection between a string of thee residential burglaries, all of which occurred on Nov. 9, according to Homewood Deputy Police Chief Denise McGrath.

The first burglary occurred sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on the 18500 block of Clyde Rd, according to the report. Police say someone smashed a window on the north side of the home to gain entry. The burglar stole a video gaming console valued at $300, according to police. No residents were home at the time of the burglary.

The second burglary happened between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the 17500 block of Sycamore Dr., according to the report. Police say someone broke out the front window of a home, entered and stole an iPod valued at $300. No one was home at the time of the burglary.

The third burglary happened on the 18400 block of Reigel Rd. between 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., according to reports. Police say someone pried open the back door of the home to get inside. The burglar stole a video gaming console valued at $300 and a laptop worth $1,200, the report says. No one was home at the time of the burglary.
