TUESDAY, JAN. 17

Pipe Possession

Anthony Aurelio, 31, of the 700 block of Coales Road in Chicago Heights, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they stopped Aurelio’s car near Maple Road and Dixie Highway around 2:30 a.m. for driving without a rear plate light and saw a bag in the backseat resembling a gun case. According to the report, Aurelio gave officers permission to search the bag, which only contained tools, though they found a glass pipe on the floor.

Aurelio denied ownership of the pipe to police, saying it likely belonged to someone who had recently sat in the backseat.

He was also issued tickets for no driver’s license on person and no rear registration light.

Drunken Driver Three Times Limit

Lenora Cobb, 45, of the 15200 block of Grant Street in Dolton, was charged with driving under the influence. Police said they found Cobb asleep behind the wheel, with the engine running, in Walt’s parking lot on 183rd Street around 2 a.m. According to the report, Cobb could not take field sobriety tests because she could not keep her balance, but her blood-alcohol level registered at 0.246.

Broken Window to Say 'Hello'

Darrius Jennings, 20, of the 400 block of Roberts Drive in Glenwood, was charged with criminal damage to property. Police said Jennings broke a window in the 18600 block around noon, looking to speak with a resident.

Stolen Makeup

Amber Compton, 30, of the 4400 block of Wood Duck Lane in Plainfield, was charged with retail theft. Security told police that a woman later identified as Compton left a store in the 17500 block of Halsted Street around 6 p.m. without paying for makeup totaling $24. Accoding to the report, she was stopped and detained outside the store until police arrived.

Domestic Battery

Christian Chu, 21, of the 1200 block of 190th Street in Homewood, was charged with domestic battery. Police said Chu, inside his home, grab a woman by the hair and dragged her out of the shower, punched her in the chest and choked her. She was treated for chest pains and shortness of breath around 7 p.m., police said. Chu denied the incident to police.
