$400,000 in Damage from Flossmoor House Fire

Firefighters from seven area departments were called to assist in a Thursday morning house fire on Redwood Court. No one was injured.

A fire that started in the basement of a Flossmoor house Thursday morning is estimated to have caused more than $400,000 in damage.

No one was hurt after the blaze ignited in the 3100 block of Redwood Court, according to a Flossmoor Fire Department official. The family was not at home when firefighters got the call at 9:11 a.m.

The cause remains under investigation but it appears to be accidental, said Flossmoor Asst. Chief Keith Damm.
