While no injuries have been reported, the incident has put the Homewood recycling crew back roughly 10 hours, according to the night shift supervisor William Pina.

While Wright could not confirm the origin of the fire, Pina speculated that it was caused by friction from a conveyor belt rubbing against recycled plastic.
