Crack Hidden in Man's Crack

A Flossmoor police officer was part of a tactical team that arrested a 29-year-old Hazel Crest man with crack cocaine hidden up his rear-end.

The team was patrolling 170th Street and Dixie Highway, a known “hot spot” for drug dealers, when a man later identified as Marcus Gunn made eye contact, jumped in his car, and sped away, police said. They stopped him in the 16800 block of Wood Street in Hazel Crest around 3 p.m. for driving without a seatbelt and detected an odor of marijuana.

Upon searching the car officers found a magazine containing 9 mm bullets. Gunn pointed out a hidden compartment in the car containing a silver-and-black pistol and four plastic bags containing crack cocaine, police said. When asked whether he had anything else illegal on him, police report that Gunn replied, “I have crack rocks in my ass.”

The gun found in Gunn’s car was reported stolen in Syracuse, IN, police said.

Child Custody Dispute

Police were called to the 1300 block of Amery Court around 10:30 p.m. about a domestic fight over the custody of a child. Officers questioned the parents, aged 17 and 19, both of whom admitted to striking one another but refused to press charges. Neither did police, though they advised the couple to go their separate ways for the night. The child stayed with the mother, police said.
