Flossmoor Police Blotter: Maintenance Man Implicated in Recurring Burglaries

Recurring Burglaries
A 65-year-old homeowner from the 2800 block of Flossmoor Road told police that his maintenance man might be stealing from this home judging by the familiar “gifts” the man has been giving their mutual female friend.
The woman said she has received pots, pans, vases and a vacuum recently and has seen other recognizable items, including a massage chair and prescription pills, inside the maintenance man’s home. The homeowner said he wasn’t certain whether such items had been missing because “I have a lot of extra stuff in my attic.”

Police said they suspect the maintenance man—who is still employed by the homeowner—is connected to burglary at the same address that was reported in August. No charges had been filed in either case as of Friday.

Stolen Apple Product
A 24-year-old Flossmoor resident from the 1100 block of Cambridge told police that an iPod Nano was stolen out of his car sometime between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. He said he locked the car doors but left the driver’s side window open in his driveway.
MONDAY, DEC. 12
Another Stolen Apple Product
A 13-year-old Parker Junior High School student told police that her Apple iPhone 4 was stolen out of her unlocked gym locker around 10 a.m. The phone, valued at $300, is white in color with a pink red and white polka dot case, according to police.
School Fight
Two 17-year-old girls—from Glenwood and Calumet City—were ticketed and accused of fighting in the H-F Community High School parking lot. During school dismissal, a police liaison was called over to break it up. A witness told police that the Calumet City girl came into the parking lot swinging at the high school student. She said she was on school grounds to pick up items she left in someone’s car.
