Former Marine Joins Homewood Police Force

Kayvon Karimi was most recently with the Lynwood Police Department.

Homewood's newest police officer, Kayvon Karimi, was sworn into office during the Jan. 14 village board meeting.

Karimi is a 1998 graduate of Merriville High School. In 2001, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and spent four years serving his country.

Upon his return from service in 2005, Karimi began working for the Burns Harbor Police Department. In 2011, he made a transfer over to the Lynwood Police Department.
