Flossmoor Cops Catch Fugitive Suspected of Stabbing His Own Mom

A tip led police to Blake Springsteen, who is now in the custody of the Cook County Sheriff's Department.

Flossmoor police caught fugitive Blake Springsteen of unincorporated Cook County earlier this evening thanks to a tip called in by a local resident, according to a notification sent by the department.

Police have been on the lookout for Springsteen since Monday evening after he reportedly stabbed his mother. Springsteen is now in the custody of the Cook County Sheriff’s Department. His mother is reported in stable condition at a south suburban hospital.

Police believe the 22-year-old beat his 46-year-old mother, bound her and stuffed her into the trunk of a car, then drove her to Crete, stabbed her repeatedly and left her in a ditch.
