Juveniles Unlawfully Enter Garage
Several juveniles were charged with criminal trespassing after they were caught rummaging through a garage on the 18200 block of Dolphin Lake Drive around 4:30 p.m, according to police. Nothing was taken or damaged.
A juvenile was charged with theft and resisting an officer after stealing another juvenile's skateboard behind Willow School just after 10:30 a.m., according to police. The report says the juvenile claimed she thought the skateboard was hers, but that wasn't enough to deter police. According to the report, the juvenile attempted to resist arrest. After some struggle getting her handcuffed and secured in the back of the patrol car, according to reports. Police contacted juvenile screening at 11th and Hamilton, but they said they would not take the juvenile's case. She will now be required to attend Markham Juvenile Court.
SUNDAY, AUG. 19
Chicagoans 48-year-old Lillie Brown, 28-year-old Demiyus Koger and 18-year-old Carmen Miller were all charged with retail theft after police discovered stolen items in their car following a theft report from Kohl's around 3 p.m., according to police. In addition to the combined $1,173.81 stolen from Kohl's, the group was also found to have stolen merchandise from TJ Maxx, Kmart and Bed Bath and Beyond.
Man Beats Up Girlfriend
Thomas Fath Jr., 46, of 17936 Sacramento Ave. was charged with domestic battery after police responded to a dispute between Fath and his girlfriend sometime around 12:30 p.m., police said. According to the report, Fath's girlfriend discovered he has been seeing other women. When the girlfriend confronted Fath about it, he became angry, scratched his girlfriends arm, put his hands around her throat and jumped on her stomach, according to the report. Police say they noted the sustained injuries, but the girlfriend refused medical attention.
Ruben Cortez, 22, of 1225 Barbara Ln in Chicago Heights was charged with DUI, speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle just before 2:45 a.m. Police say they initially pulled Cortez over after he was observed traveling 41 mph in a 25 mph zone while driving southbound on the 18100 block of Dixie Highway. According to the report, Cortez failed both of the two field sobriety tests he was issued.
SATURDAY, AUG. 18
Marci Smith, 4, of 4552 W 122nd Street in Alsip was charged with domestic battery and she got into a fight with another woman on the 900 block of Ridge Road sometime after 10 p.m., according to police. According to the report, minor injuries were sustained by both ladies in the fight. Both refused medical attention.
