Homewood Cops Honored for Nabbing Bank Robbers

Bank of America is pleased to have the cash back in the bank—and the suspects caught.

Bank of America extended its gratitude to the Homewood Police Department and South Suburban Emergency Response Team, for their hand in arresting three robbery suspects.

The ordeal started with the armed robbery of the bank's branch at 183rd Street and Governors Highway, and resulted in a four-hour standoff in a condominium complex near the bank. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and GPS devices from the bank, and sent the surrounding community into high alert, with lockdowns at nearby schools.

“I knew we were in for a long day,” said Bank of America senior vice president Patrick O’Meara.
