Homewood Detective Honored for Stopping Burglary String

Detective William Rolle was honored for his outstanding work performance leading to seven charges of residential burglary in Homewood's Governors Park neighborhood.

Homewood’s Governors Park neighborhood is a safer place, thanks to the work of Detective William Rolle. He was honored during last Tuesday’s village board meeting for his role in stopping a trend of residential burglaries in the northwest corner of Homewood.

Rolle was performing surveillance in the Governors Park neighborhood on Feb. 14 in response to a string of residential burglaries. He noticed a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle associated with a prior burglary in the same area and called for backup. Police stopped the vehicle, arresting the four individuals inside for the burglary of a home on Briar Ave.

Further investigation revealed three of the four alleged burglars were involved in another nearby residential burglary on Feb. 2 on Roosevelt Ave.
