MONDAY, DEC. 26

Fishtailing

Sherrie L. Ordaz, 39, of the 6600 block of 165th Street in Tinley Park, was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage. Police said they stopped Ordaz’s car near Dixie Highway and Cedar Road around 11:30 p.m. after it drove off the roadway, struck a curb and fishtailed. She was arrested after failing breath and field sobriety tests, according to the report.

Battery or Self-Defense?

Rori Windmon, 42, of the 19300 block of Chestnut Drive in Country Club Hills, was charged with battery. Police said Windmon hit a man in the face inside a senior citizens complex in the 900 block of Maple Road around 8 p.m. According to the report, the man found Windmon in his mother’s apartment and confronted him. Windmon said the man threatened to beat him up and assumed a fighting stance, provoking him to strike in self-defense.

Driving with Loaded Gun, Crack

Patrick Smith, 27, of the 15500 block of Loomis Street in Harvey, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance, and possession with intent to a deliver controlled substance. Police said they found 1.8 grams of crack cocaine after stopping Smith’s car near Ashland Avenue and 174th Street around 10:30 p.m. for driving without a seat belt. A loaded Walther P99 .40 caliber handgun was found between the passenger seat and the center console, police said. Smith was also issued a ticket for failure to wear seatbelt.

THURSDAY, DEC. 22

Stolen Car

Austin Veal, 22, of the 7300 block of 71st Court in Bridgeview, and Jerrica Webster, 21, of the 100 block of 155th Street in Harvey, were charged with criminal trespass to motor vehicle. Police said Veal and Webster entered a stolen car that had been parked in the fire lane outside Target and drove off. They were stopped only a few feet away, around 4:30 p.m., and asked about the car’s owner. Police said Webster, the driver, told police the car belonged to a friend, though she couldn’t provide a name.

The car was turned over to the actual owner, who reported damage to the front of the car that had not previously been there and said he was missing two diecast model airplanes from his trunk.
