Homewood Police Blotter: Caught with Pants Open; Stolen WWI Memorabilia

Homewood police reports, Nov. 14-17

THURSDAY, NOV. 17

Caught with Pants Open

Police said they were called to a parking lot in the 17600 block of Halsted Street at 2:45 p.m. about a man masturbating in his brown van. Police caught up to the van several blocks away after it made an illegal turn, and identified the driver as Josiah Clark, 29, of the 21200 block of Main Street in Matteson.

Police asked Clark why his pants were “unbuttoned and slightly open” and he said he had previously pulled over to urinate. The caller who reportedly witnessed Clark masturbating refused to sign a complaint or identify him.

He was charged with possession of cannabis, improper turn and aggravated driving on a revoked license. Police said they found 15 grams of marijuana in Clark’s van, and his rap sheet includes four convictions for driving on a revoked license.

Stolen Hygienics

Lisa Womack, 50, of the 0-100 block of Campbell Avenue in Matteson, was charged with retail theft. Police said Womack left a pharmacy in the 18300 block of Governors Highway around noon without paying for hygiene products totaling $62. She fled in her car and was later stopped by Country Club Hills police, according to the report. She was also processed on retail theft warrants out Chicago and DuPage County.

TUESDAY, NOV. 15

Stolen WWI Memorabilia

Several historic items—including a World War I sword, helmet and flare gun—were reported stolen from a home in the 2500 block of Hickory Road between Aug. 20 and Sept. 6, police said. The homeowner told police that personal reasons delayed his reporting of the crime. He said he believes someone entered through the basement window, though police could find no signs of forced entry.

Stolen Perfume

Azalea McDonald, 45, of the 15600 block of Marshfield Avenue in Harvey, was charged with retail theft. Police said McDonald left a retail store in the 17600 block of Halsted Street around 1:15 p.m. without paying for bottles of perfume totaling $497. She fled in a man’s car, which was later stopped by police, according to the report.

MONDAY, NOV. 14

Stolen Baby Goods, Booze

Raushanah Davis, 30, of the 900 block of 104th Street in Chicago, was charged with retail theft. Police said Davis left a retail store in the 17500 block of Halsted Street around 2:30 p.m. without paying for baby products and liquor totaling $131. She was stopped outside the store and later arrested by police, according to the report.

Switched Sales Tags

Cynthia Dixon, 44, of the 19900 block of Park Avenue in Lynwood, was charged with retail theft. Police said Dixon left a retail store in the 17500 block of Halsted Street around 7:30 p.m. without paying for $14 worth of clothing. She also switched sales tags, replacing expensive ones with clearance items, and deceived a clerk into purchasing $128 worth of clothing for $25, police said. She was stopped outside the store and later arrested by police, according to the report.
