Crack Pipe Found on Woman Hiding in Crawl Space: Homewood Police Blotter

Homewood police reports, Dec. 29-31

SATURDAY, DEC. 31

DUI, Speeding

Danielle Jackson, 33, of the 18100 block of San Diego Avenue in Homewood, was charged with driving under the influence and speeding. Police said they smelled alcohol after stopping Jackson’s car in the 3100 block of 183rd Street around 4 a.m. for driving 51 in a 35 mph zone. She was arrested and later failed a Breathalyzer exam, according to the report.

Another DUI, Speeding

Patrick Akai, 23, of the 1400 block of Linden Road in Homewood, was charged with DUI and speeding. Police said they stopped Akai in the 18000 block of Halsted Street around 1:45 a.m. for driving in 45 in a 30 mph zone. He was arrested after failing a Breathlyzer exam, according to the report.

Retail Theft

Susana Cortes, 24, of the 300 block of 163rd Street in Harvey, was charged with retail theft. Security told police that Cortes left a store in the 17500 block of Halsted Street around 3 p.m. without paying for clothing priced at $132.

Domestic Rampage

Asaia Rampage, 46, of the 1500 block of 183rd Street in Homewood, was charged with domestic battery and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said she struck a man in the eye with a cell phone and then locked him out of his home, barricading the door with boxes. According to the report, the man gave officers permission, around 4 p.m., to ram open the back door. Police said they found Rampage hiding upstairs in a crawl space, and pulled a crack pipe from her pocket.

Retail Theft

Bryenne Scott, 19, of the 400 block of Cottage Grove in Edwardsville, was charged with retail theft. Security told police that Scott left a store in the 17600 block of Halsted Street around 5:45 p.m. without paying for various items totaling $157.
