Criminal Case of the Munchies
Around 3 a.m., an unidentified man stole four bags of chips valued at $4 from the Mobil Gas Station at 17500 Dixie Highway, then fled in a silver Chevy Impala, police said. The vehicle sped away southbound on Dixie Highway, according to the report.
Car Burglarized in Homeowner's Driveway
A Homewood woman awoke Saturday morning to find that someone had burglarized her car, which was parked in the driveway of a residence in the 18000 block of Clyde Road, police said. The thief or thieves smashed in the vehicle's front passenger side window, stealing a TomTom GPS portable navigational system worth $190, a gold designer purse valued at $150 and a cell phone valued at $600, according to the report. The cost to repair the window is assessed at $200, police said.

ManorCare Resident Reports Theft of Dentures
A Matteson woman is determined to find justice after being robbed of her custom dentures at an area nursing home, police said. The woman said that when she retired for the night at 8 p.m. in her room at ManorCare, 940 Maple Rd., she placed her fitted upper and lower dentures in a case by her bedside. After the woman awoke around 6:30 the following morning, it was discovered that the dental appliances were missing from the room, police said. The custom dentures have an estimated value of $8,000. The woman said she will press charges against the thief or thieves, according to the report. In April, the family of an elderly resident complained after she was robbed of $500 from her TCF bank account while a patient at ManorCare, police said.
