DUI Arrest
Cesar Goday, 24, of Chicago Heights, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said they stopped Goday’s speeding 1993 Infinity near 173rd Street and Halsted after seeing him cross violently over and across both lanes of northbound Halsted traffic and nearly strike a concrete median. Goday had a blood-alcohol concentration of .159 about 20 minutes after he was arrested at 4:38 a.m. He was also charged with driving while license suspended and driving without proof of insurance.
Heroin and Drug Paraphernalia
Phillip Davis, 26, of East Chicago, IN, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Davis was stopped in the 1300 block of 183rd Street at 3:41 p.m. for not displaying vehicle registration, police said. With the help of a canine officer on loan from the Olympia Fields police, officers found a plastic bag that contained 15 smaller bags and a total of 4 grams of heroin and a syringe and a cap with heroin residue on it. Davis was also charged with driving while license suspended and improper display of registration.

Stolen Power Tools
Hand and power tools were reported taken from a truck that was parked in the 1100 block of Ridge Road, according to a police report. Between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., the offender pried open the window of the truck’s bed cap and took a wooden storage box that contained, among other tools, a cordless DeWalt drill and DeWalt orbital sander. Also taken were a 6-foot level, leather tool belt and miscellaneous clothing. The victim’s reported loss was about $1,000.

No Money to Spare
Steven Bradford, 20, of Homewood, was charged with felony theft. Police said Bradford, an employee at a bowling facility in the 3000 block of 183rd Street, was seen on closed circuit video removing cash from a teller machine at the establishment the night before. Employees told police the machine was $1,240 short when balanced the following day. Another employee allegedly let Bradford in through a side door, according to the police report.
