Homewood Man Charged with Domestic Battery

A 28-year-old Homewood man was charged with domestic battery after police responded to a 911 call of a man and woman quarreling at his address. Derino Williams, of the 1700 block of Larkspur Lane, was found bleeding from one hand, police said. Williams stated that his injury was the result of his angry attack on a mirror, police said. An adult female told police that following an argument, Wiliams threw her clothes from the closet and shoved her against the wall when she attempted to stop him. The woman told police that Williams also struck her in the stomach, and police noted that her shirt was bloodstained. Williams told police he "barely" touched the woman, claiming he did so in self-defense. Both Williams and the woman declined medical treatment, police said.

Juveniles with BB Gun Frighten Commuter

A man walking home from work through Homewood Estates Park around 8 p.m. saw four juveniles who appeared to be trying to set something on fire, police said. When the juveniles yelled and began to chase him, the witness ran in fear "for his life," police said. Hearing the commotion, a second witness then saw a juvenile tuck a gun into the front of his pants and run westbound on the 18100 block of Marlin, according to the report. That juvenile was stopped and brought back to 18100 block of Cherrywood to show police where he dropped his weapon, which proved to be a BB gun, according to the report. All four juveniles were located in the area, identified by the witness, then transported to Homewood Police Department. They were charged with disorderly conduct, then released to their guardians, police said. The BB gun was placed into evidence.
