Possession of Marijuana

A juvenile, whose name was not released by police, was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of tobacco after both were found on his person as he walked near 186th and Homewood Place at 3:37 a.m. The youth had less than 2.5 grams of pot on him and nine packs of Newport cigarettes on him, police said. He was ticketed and released to his parents’ custody, according to the police report.

$400 Worth of Merchandise Stolen

David Stamps, 39, 1338 W. 1st Place, Hobart, Ind., was charged with retail theft after he took merchandise with a retail value of $394 from a store in the 17500 block of Halsted Street. Stamps left the store at 7:36 p.m. with a shopping cart filled with un-bagged merchandise he did not pay for, police said. When confronted by store security and police, Stamps acted confused, gave conflicting information and said he was unsure of his name, age and date of birth. He is scheduled to appear in court in Markham August 7.

Stolen Yu-Gi-Oh Trading Cards

Someone took a duffle bag filled with Yu-Gi-Oh! cards from a residence in the 18400 block of Cherry Creek Drive. The bag and cards, which were kept in three binders and two large boxes in the Swiss Army brand bag, have an estimated value of $400 and were taken sometime between June 23 and June 28, police said.

Credit Card Fraud

A resident in the 2300 block of Clyde Terrace told police someone used his credit card to make an unauthorized $400 purchase at a Bloomingdale’s store in Chicago between June 23 and June 25. The man also told police he recently left his card at a restaurant in Grand Haven, Mich., for a brief, unspecified amount of time until he realized his mistake and returned for it.
