SATURDAY, APRIL 7

Stun Gun Found During Traffic Stop

Nekesha Pittman, 27, of the 17400 block of Eastgate Drive in Country Club Hills was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, obstructing identification, driving while license suspended and no headlights. Police said they found a stun gun in Pittman’s car after stopping it near Dixie Highway and Hawthorne Road around 2:30 a.m. Pittman initially lied about her name, according to the report.

Retail Thefts

Markham residents Lauren Falkner, 19, of the 15500 block of Millard Avenue and Ashley Ellis, 18, of the 2900 block of Sherwood Avenue were charged with retail theft. Security at a store in the 17600 block of Halsted told police that Falkner and Ellis had been caught on camera hiding clothing totaling $507 in their purses around 8:30 p.m. and leaving.

FRIDAY, APRIL 6

Juvenile Found with Cash, Drugs and Guns

A juvenile was charged with unlawful possession of firearms and unlawful possession of cannabis after police stopped his car in the 17500 block of Halsted just after midnight for disregarding a stop sign and traffic light and found two loaded handguns in the car. Additionally, police say they found 2 grams of marijuana and $2,302 cash in the boy’s pocket.

He was also charged with disobeying a stop sign and disobeying a traffic control device.

Though he was wearing an empty gun holster at the time, another boy in the car was released without charges to a member of his family.

Loud Music Brings Attention to Drunken Driver

Ryan Kelley, 29, of the 21900 block of Central Park Avenue in Park Forest was charged with driving under the influence, driving with BAC greater than 0.08, no headlights and illegal operation of sound amplification system. Police said Kelley failed field sobriety and breath tests after stopping his car near Birch Road and Harwood Avenue around 1 a.m. for driving without headlights and blasting music discernible from at least 75 feet away.

Domestic Battery

Edward Burton, 41, of the 900 block of Ridge Road in Homewood was charged with domestic battery after a woman alleged Burton slapped her outside his home around 8 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4

Retail Thefts

Isaiah Prince-Crowley, 18, of the 1300 block of 112th Street in Chicago and Herman Doss, 21, of the 14600 block of Princeton Avenue in Dolton were charged with retail theft. Security at a store in the 17800 block of Halsted Street told police that Doss acted as lookout while Prince-Crowley stole a video game around 12:30 p.m. A security officer managed to knock the game out of Prince-Crowley’s hand before the men fled. Doss and Prince-Crowley were arrested nearby on foot, according to police.

Doss was processed on a Glenwood warrant for retail theft. A third man, who allegedly fled the store with two laptop computers, was not caught.

TUESDAY, APRIL 3

Bottle Put Down Man's Pants Returned to Store

Roy Williamson, 29, of the 100 block of Williamsburg Road in Country Club Hills was charged with retail theft. Security at a store in the 3000 block of 183rd Street told police that Williamson was caught on camera slipping a bottle of vodka in the front of his pants around 5:45 p.m. and leaving. He was stopped outside the store and the bottle was recovered, according to the report.
