Man Fights to Keep Roommate from Entering Home: Homewood Blotter

Identity Theft

Police say someone stole a Homewood man’s identity to open up a fraudulent Dish Network account in Florida sometime in January. The man noticed something was awry when he started getting calls from collection agencies, police said. According to reports, the man pulled his credit report and noticed the $385 discrepancy.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 

Girlfriend Beaten

Justin Williams, 22, of the 1900 block of Hickory Rd. was charged with domestic battery after a confrontation with his girlfriend around 10:30 p.m., police say. According to reports, Williams got into an argument over the volume of the television with his girlfriend while she was holding her infant baby. Police say Williams’ girlfriend raised her leg out of defense as Williams bumped her with his hip, which prompted Williams to allegedly tear her jeans and push her into a wall.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29

Tires Slashed 

Someone slashed a Homewood resident’s front left tire on the 1800 block of Klimm Ave. sometime between 11 p.m. on Sept. 28 and 9 a.m. on Sept. 29, according to police. Reports say the owner of the vehicle found a broken 12-inch kitchen knife in his front yard.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 

Man Fights to Keep Other Man From Entering Home

Inyene Ette, 53, of the 18700 block of Juhlin Dr. was charged with domestic battery after attempting to keep another man from entering their shared residence, police said. Reports say Ette was mad at the other man because he “has been causing problems and often leaves the house for days at a time.” When the other man tried to enter, Ette hit him in the chest with his elbow and pushed him away from the house, police say. The other man called the police and officers ended the dispute, according to reports.
