Man Robs Hazel Crest Bank, 5th in 10 Days

The suspect robbed the Chase Bank at 3480 W. 183rd St. Thursday, and is believed to be responsible for several others in the south suburbs.

A man believed to be tied to four robberies in south suburbs and on the South Side since early last week struck again Thursday, this time at a bank in Hazel Crest.

The man robbed the Chase Bank at 3480 W. 183rd St. at about 1:15 p.m. Thursday, the Chicago Tribune reports. 

The same man is suspect in robbing a Charter One Bank at 1400 Torrence Ave. in Calumet City on Wednesday; a PNC Bank, 10701 S. Western Ave. on Tuesday; the South Division Credit Union, 9122 S. Kedzie Ave. in Evergreen Park on June 12. And on June 9 about 12:35 p.m., the US Bank, 11159 S. Kedzie Ave.

The suspect is described as black, between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot-1. Surveillance footage shows him as balding, with some facial hair and wearing glasses. During Thursday's robbery in Hazel Crest, he was seen wearing a white tank top and light-colored pants.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Chicago office of the FBI at 312-421-6700.
