Police Issue Community Alert After Stranger Approaches Child

A man pulled into the driveway of a home in the 2300 block of Carroll Parkway and spoke with a 7-year-old boy. The man attempted to lure the boy closer to him, before the boy ran into his home.

Flossmoor residents are urged to be on alert after a stranger approached a child Tuesday evening. 

Flossmoor police and the Village of Flossmoor issued a community alert Wednesday afternoon, after the man attempted to speak to a 7-year-old boy in the 2300 block of Carroll Parkway, Tuesday evening around 5:30 p.m. The suspect is described as an African American male, of unknown age, with short black hair and a beard.

The unknown male pulled into the boy’s driveway in a gray truck or SUV and began speaking with the boy, before he asked the boy to come closer to the vehicle. The boy then ran into his home and the man left.
