Police Shut Down Local Car Burglars

A resident's tip led to two of the five arrests, according to police.

A joint effort between Homewood and Flossmoor police has lead to the arrest of five people associated with a recent rash of local car burglaries, according to an alert from the Flossmoor Police Department. 

Police say they picked up the cadre of burglars over the course of two separate evenings as they were preying on cars in both Homewood and Flossmoor. A Flossmoor resident’s suspicious auto tip lead to two of the arrests, according to reports. Proceeds from some of the recent area car burglaries, as well as two stolen vehicles were found in the group’s possession. 

While the identities of those involved have not yet been released, all face multiple felony counts, according to the notice.
